Project 4 - Sense of Place

Sense of Place - Navarre Florida

Over spring break I traveled to Navarre Beach, Florida which is located in the panhandle of Florida. When driving into the city there was a sign that read "Navarre The Most Relaxing Place." Going forward with this vacation I knew I wanted to capture a sense of relaxation and comfort. Also, Navarre is known for its emerald water and record length ocean pier. I highlight the feeling of relaxation in the first two images with the depiction of a couple watching the sunset while eating dinner and my mom sitting by the fire. Looking further at Navarre's beauty I took a picture of palm trees silhouetted in the sunset as well as its emerald coast and pier during the day. The Navarre Pier is the longest pier in Florida and the Gulf of Mexico, spanning 1,545 feet and 30 feet above water. The final picture is a sign that is filled with color and direction towards the different beaches and places in Florida. The use of color adds to the vibrance of Navarre and ties together with overall beauty.
